DEFTONES: New Song To Premier Online Tomorrow

DEFTONES will premier a brand new song from its upcoming CD, "Saturday Night Wrist", this Thursday, September 28 for one day only on its MySpace page.

In other news, DEFTONES will headline a very special show at the Electric Ballroom in London on October 12. Tickets will be available to DEFTONES fans in an exclusive pre-sale this Thursday, September 28, and available to the general public Friday, September 29.

As previously reported, DEFTONES' video for their new single, "Hole in the Earth", has been posted online at YouTube.com. The clip was reportedly shot in New York with director Brian Lazzaro (COHEED AND CAMBRIA, MEST).

"Saturday Night Wrist" is scheduled for release on October 31 via Warner. An e-card for the CD can be accessed at this location.

The group began working on the follow-up to the group's self-titled 2003 effort with producer Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, before switching to Bob Ezrin and finally finishing with Terry Date, who's been the DEFTONES' regular producer since their debut, and Shaun Lopez (THE REVOLUTION SMILE, ex-FAR) .

DEFTONES guitarist Stephen Carpenter told Billboard.com that the group wasn't sweating the long wait for the new CD.

"There was no specific timetable at all," Carpenter told Billboard.com. "We know how we work. We figure we do it at our own pace — sometimes fast, sometimes slow. It's definitely been slow as of late, but our agenda is no agenda, if that makes any sense. [We're] just having a good time."

But Carpenter acknowledged that making "Saturday Night Wrist" was arduous and involved "working with different people in different places and dealing with forces of the unknown."

Vocalist Chino Moreno recorded an album and toured with his other band, TEAM SLEEP, while the DEFTONES were making the new CD.
